Trainer Training

Workplace Trainer

 
The three day Workplace Trainer course is designed to train internal trainers in basic workplace training skills and techniques to enable them to deliver on-job training to existing and newly recruited staff. It includes one-to-one or small group basis in a range of different formats such as training: in the use of equipment, in organisational processes, induction, or specific technical training either organisational focused or against unit standards.

Workplace Trainer Unit Standards in this course include:
  • US 7091Establish a culturally safe and inclusive learning environment for adults in New Zealand's cultural setting
  • US 7095 Develop and facilitate individualised adult learning plans
  • US 7102 Demonstrate knowledge of theoretical models of adult learning
  • US 7108 Deliver on-job training for adult trainees
  • US 7114 Coach adult learner(s)

Entry Criteria


  • Be 16 years of age or over.
  • Applicants for whom English is a second language must meet IELTS (or equivalent) Level 5.5

Assessor/Moderator

 
The three day Assessor/Moderator course will give participants a broad knowledge of assessment processes, moderation and methods for the workplace and other learning environments. It includes the preparation of candidates for assessment, the verification of evidence, the use of standards to assess and the moderation of assessment material. Completion of these first two modules will provide participants with a National Certificate in Adult Education and Training (Level 4).

Assessor/Moderator Unit Standards in this course include:
  • US 11281 Prepare candidate(s) for assessment against standards
  • US 4098 Use standards to assess candidate performance
  • US 18203 Verify evidence for assessment
  • US 11551 Moderate assessment
