Safety and Access Programmes
This course will give you the necessary skills to safely work in a confined space outside of ventilated areas.
Training includes:
- Selecting, using and maintaining harnesses, connectors, lanyards, tripods and other equipment
- Identifying and assessing hazards and establishing controls
- Emergency plans and rescue techniques
- Knowledge of legislative requirements
Includes assessment and registration of credits for US:
- US 17599 Plan a confined space entry
- US 18426 Demonstrate knowledge of hazards associated with confined space. Minimum requirement to safely enter and work in a confined space - Department of Labour Guidance Notes.
Additional Unit Standards can be added in this course including:
- US 25510 Operate an atmospheric testing device to determine a suitable atmosphere exists to work safely
- US 3058 Perform gas tests for energy and chemical plant
- US 19207 Enter, work in, and exit a confined space in the water industry
- US 19205 Demonstrate knowledge of pathogens, diseases, and their control in the water industry
One day Refresher Courses are recommended every two years to update on changes to legislation and confined space techniques at work.

This course will give people a sound understanding of the general working principles of Telehandlers and safe working practices and techniques.
Training includes:
- describe control of hazards associated with operating a telehandler
- check and prepare telehandler and attachment before use
- operate telehandler
- carry out post-operational procedures
Prerequisite

- US 16701 Demonstrate knowledge and skills for driving on a road for endorsement W (wheels)

Elevated Work Platforms Training
|
|
|
This course provides people in the Building and Construction industries with the ability to assess and select suitable EWP and an understanding of legislative requirements. It will provide the skills and knowledge to work safely and competently in setting up, daily maintenance and operation of various types of elevating work platforms on a construction or industrial site.
Unit Standards in this course include:
- US 23966 Describe types of elevating work platforms (EWPs), and legislative requirements for their use
Additional Unit Standards can be added in this course including:
- US 23960 Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a scissor lift EWP
- US 23961 Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a truck mounted EWP
- US 23962 Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a self propelled boom lift EWP

The three day Assessor/Moderator course will give participants a broad knowledge of assessment processes, moderation and methods for the workplace and other learning environments. It includes the preparation of candidates for assessment, the verification of evidence, the use of standards to assess and the moderation of assessment material. Completion of these first two modules will provide participants with a National Certificate in Adult Education and Training (Level 4).

This course will give you skills and knowledge to work safely at height outside of protected areas. You will gain the knowledge to use the right fall arrest set up to keep you safe in a range of working situations.
Training includes:
- Wearing and adjusting a harness
- Instruction in the correct installation and use of connectors, lanyards, knots and ropes
- Inspection and logging fall arrest equipment
- Planning and carrying out successful rescues
